Pelican Argyle

This plate was part of a two-pack, along with a metallic red plate. It appears to have not been very common, unlike a couple of other Pelican 2-packs.

Nyko Game Face 360

This plate was an early attempt at offering a customizable solution to Xbox 360 console owners, for their own personal faceplate designs. The plate is a two-part plate with a clear front. It comes with inserts that you put into your printer. You can go to the Nyko website and download the template and program for designing your graphic, print it out on the inserts, and then place the insert into your faceplate. It came with a small number of pre-made inserts, and once you used all of yours, additional inserts were available from Nyko. This insert concept was carried over to other products, including NFL Football teams, Transformers plates and even a 6-design Simpsons plate. The idea was not a huge success and these are still available for a quarter of their original retail price.

Naruto: Rise of a Ninja

This plate was free in the US with the pre-order of the game. As best we can tell, they were only available through Game Crazy stores. Upon picking up your pre-ordered copy of the game, you were given a coupon that you could mail in to get your faceplate. It appears that the execution of this program went poorly as the conversion of pre-orders to sales were small, and not everyone got their coupons. To date, there has only been one seller offering them one after another after another on eBay. One would assume that this seller had access to the unused inventory and is selling them one at a time to keep the secondary market price artificially high.

Microsoft Pink Balloons

This plate was available in Japan and the UK since launch. They are not very expensive, but it can be difficult to find someone who will ship them to the US. This plate was listed along with eight other plates that gamers could vote on and choose which plates would be made. Aluminum (Silver), Sun (Orange Swirl) and Pink Balloon were selected unchanged, so they are not listed seperately under

Joytech Black Tribal from Twin Pack

This plate was released as part of a 2-pack in UK at the time of the Xbox 360 console launch there. Unlike a couple of other Joytech 2-packs that are still readily found, these plates appear to be extraordinarily rare today.

Microsoft Woody

This was one of the first, first-party plates available at the launch of the Xbox 360 console. They were apparently manufactured in ridiculously huge numbers and can be purchased by the dozens for as little as .49 each on eBay.

Microsoft Silver

This was one of the first, first-party plates available at the launch of the Xbox 360 console. They were apparently manufactured in ridiculously huge numbers and can be purchased by the dozens for as little as .49 each on eBay. This plate was listed as

Microsoft Prototype #1 of 11

This plate was a prototype plate made by Microsoft that was never put into production. It was on display at E3 2005, inside large, round glass windowboxes built into the Microsoft booth area. This plate is number one of a total of eleven prototypes shown.

Microsoft Prototype #? of 11 Orange

This plate was a prototype plate made by Microsoft that was never put into production. It was on display at E3 2005, inside large, round glass windowboxes built into the Microsoft booth area. This plate is number ??? of a total of eleven prototypes shown.

Microsoft OEM Elite Black

This is the plate that comes on the front of Xbox 360 Elite consoles. It is not available for purchase separately. It is more rare than the OEM Chill White for a number of reasons. There are fewer Elites in the field, and many of those had the overheating issues resolved before they shipped. That means there are fewer being repaired, so there are fewer

Microsoft OEM Chill White

This is the plate that comes on the standard Xbox 360. It is not available for purchase at retail, but unlike the Halo SE and Elite plates, they are easily and cheaply found because of the high number of defective units, and because MS tells you to keep your plate but then sends you another one anyway when they return your machine.

Medal of Honor - Airborne

This plate was a prize in an Xbox LIVE
